The weight gain of babies in the womb cannot be shown as a fixed weekly figure. Weight gain during one week in the womb depends on multiple varying factors. In a normal birth, baby weight gain can generally vary depending on the later weeks of pregnancy and the genetic characteristics of the mother and her mother. Weight gain in the womb may occur at different rates in different stages of pregnancy.

The week of pregnancy, whether the mother eats a healthy and correct diet, and the genetic structure of the mother and father also indicate weight gain. Baby growth rate may depend on family genetic traits. In addition to all these, weight gain can be made due to the structure of the mother's uterus and the health of the placenta.

While the baby's weight gain is lower in the first months of pregnancy, the baby gains weight faster in the last months of pregnancy. When the mother and child are in good health, the average weight gain of the baby during pregnancy may be as follows:

First Trimester (Week 1 - 12)

In the first three months, the baby in the womb gains an average of 50 - 100 grams of weight. Although the baby has a slow growth curve at this stage, some basic organs and systems have begun to form.

Second Trimester (Week 13-27)

In weeks 13 to 27, the baby started to grow and gain weight rapidly. At this stage, the baby can usually gain an average of 150-200 grams of weight per week.

Third Trimester (Week 28-40)

During this period, which is the last phase of pregnancy, the baby gains the fastest weekly weight throughout the pregnancy. In the third trimester, the baby usually gains an average of 200-300 grams of weight per week.

Every pregnancy is unique and different, so the growth rate of babies may vary from person to person. While weight gain is quite slow in the first months of pregnancy, as the baby grows, baby weight gain becomes faster towards the end of pregnancy. Especially after the 27th week, the baby grows rapidly and gains weight.

It is wrong to state with exact numbers how much weight the baby will gain in a week. Because weight gain depends on many different variables and factors. During the pregnancy, the mother should ensure that the baby's development is closely monitored without interrupting doctor visits and should be under the supervision of a doctor in case of any problems or lack of weight gain.
